About Me

My journey in makeup artistry started from a part-time job at Pure + Simple Spa Inc. in Toronto, where I offered customer service and was the head makeup artist. This job helped me finance my BA in Languages at the University of Toronto, which I earned hoping to become an interpreter. What happened, instead, was the nurturing of what I realized was my true passion: working with people, and helping them look and feel beautiful.

Eventually, I graduated from university and started working within my field, but I dedicated my spare time to developing my skills in makeup and hair artistry, beautifying friends and family for special events. In those early days, I was fortunate enough to work with people who believed in me and trusted in my skills more than I trusted myself, entrusting their faces and hair to my learning hands, allowing me to grow as an artist.

Two years after working in an office setting, I made the brave decision to change paths and follow my passion by launching AK Makeup & Hair Inc. and I've never looked back!

In my 10 years of working professionally as an artist, I have been published in Wedluxe, Style Me Pretty, Elegant Weddings, Grace Ormonde, Coco Magazine, Jodi Bridal Magazine and OHM Magazine, but most importantly, I have had the honour of being a part of countless women's special day.

My specialty is bridal beauty, and I often become wholeheartedly invested in my brides' weddings, which I treat as my own. 

My philosophy? Every woman is unique and deserves a distinguishing, customized look. I get the biggest pleasure from bringing my bride's vision to life, instilling a new air of confidence in her, adding a sparkle to her eye and helping her fall in love with her natural beauty.
